Blow
moudler had the bottle to switch DC for AC
The advent of sensorless flux vector inverters have enabled the
use of AC motors on plastics blow moulding machines and now 45kW Hitachi
J300 drives are coupled with standard AC motors on the machines specified
by international moulding company Lawson Mardon Fibrenyle.
Drives are the apple of a cider
maker's eye
Making cider relies on a constant supply of water and at Inch's Cider,
part of the Bulmers group, the maker has its own water supply and a
novel way of maintaining accurate pressure in the system.
Ploughing savings back into
production
A more arduous duty cycle for an inverter than that of the drive of
an industrial centrifuge is hard to imagine. A plough which scrapes
the solids from the walls of the basket of the centrifuge applies forces
which attempts to slow it to a crawl and can play havoc with the performance
of the drive.
Crane control with no rock and
roll
The electrolytic
manufacture of aluminium is dependent on a regular supply of carbon
anodes so that the aluminium oxide (alumina) stock refined from bauxite
ore, can be split into its component elements.
